Flexion Distraction
A gentle form of managing lumbar disc injuries. The caudal (leg end) portion of the table flexes up to 15 degrees which results in gentle distraction of the inervertebral discs of the spine. The force is generated by the gravitational weight of the lower limbs while the involved area is contacted by hand.
Instrument Adjusting
A precise & gentle method of restoring joint function where manual manipulations are contraindicated. Joints can be adjusted in a neutral position which is safer with hypermobile joints. We use both the Impulse Instrument and the Activator instrument.
The Impulse instrument is an electronic version which can pruduce single and multiple impulses.
The Activator Instrument is a spring loaded mechanical instrument.
Manual Adjustments
Diversified manual adjusting method using a quick hand movement to release joints. This usually involves an audible "crack" when the joint releases.
Sacro Occipital Technique
A low force system of correcting the spine utillising wedges placed under the pelvis. Very useful in managing acute injuries where other methods are limited by pain.
Exercise Rehabilitation
We use a sophisticated application providing exercise programs with video instructions on computer or mobile phone. Each program is tailored to your individual needs.
Ultrasound Imaging
Many injuries occur when certain muscles required to stabilise and protect related joints fail to activate when performing specific tasks.
We have ultrasound imaging equipment which allows you to see your own muscle contracting in real time. This is very helpful in ensuring you are using the correct muscles to perform specific actions.
We utilsise the STMfish instrument for many soft tissue conditions.
The instrument helps to break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. It also stimulates circulation and lymphatic drainage to promote rapid healing of damaged tissue.
It is helpful for:
Low back and neck pain
Tennis or golfers elbow
Shoulder rotator cuff injuries
Knee Pain
Plantar Fasciitis
Achilles Tendinosis
